Gabriela Eriskon: 2026 Marketer of the Year!

Gabriela Eriskon being named the 2026 AMA Spectrum Marketer of the Year is such a well-deserved accomplishment. Getting the opportunity to hear her story and perspective on marketing made it easy to understand why she received this recognition.

One of the questions I asked Gabriela was what inspired her to start a career in marketing.

She shared that she originally began with a background in fashion management, but over time realized how powerful marketing could truly be, especially when it comes to creating representation and making minority audiences feel seen. She explained how marketing has the ability to connect with people on a deeper level through storytelling, culture, and authenticity.

She also mentioned that one of the reasons she loves marketing is that it still allows for creativity while making an impact at the same time. Whether it is branding, campaigns, or social media, she enjoys being able to create work that resonates with audiences and reflects diverse communities in meaningful ways.

Another question I asked Gaby was what made her start using social media, and her answer ended up being one of the funniest stories.

She explained that she originally started dog sitting, but the dogs she watched were actually social media

famous. Eventually, she began helping run their social media accounts, which unexpectedly introduced her to content creation and digital marketing. What started as a fun side experience quickly turned into a passion and helped shape the path she has today.

Listening to Gabriela speak showed that marketing is so much more than advertising. It has the ability to influence culture, build community, and create opportunities for people who may not have always felt represented in traditional media spaces.

Congratulations again to Gabriela Eriskon on being named the 2026 AMA Spectrum Marketer of the Year. As an intern here at Nativa, I truly admire her work ethic, creativity, and leadership. Watching her growth and the impact she continues to make has been incredibly inspiring, and the future of marketing needs more leaders like her.
