To provide a thorough answer, discuss different marketing approaches available—such as traditional, digital, or content-based—and explain how they might benefit the organization. Then give examples of campaigns from companies in related industries and explain why this company might benefit from using the same strategy. After, emphasize what makes your suggested plan stand out from others by highlighting data-driven insights from research or analytics, which can help back up your points.
Finally, practice your answer to deliver it confidently and concisely during the interview. By doing this, you’ll be able to demonstrate you have the skills and knowledge to succeed on game day—so brush up now before going into the hot seat!”
Any Critical Thinking Question
David Skinner is a Commercial Kitchen Designer explains the importance of critical thinking questions that should be prepared for. “The ultimate ‘cherry on top’ question that will inevitably end every interview you will ever have. This is not some flippant question to brush over with a mindless non-committal response, but rather, this is your 10-second chance to show that you are not just an average Joe.
In these 10 seconds, you have a choice: do you want to leave a lasting memory or give a generic answer? We suggest you go for the former. What we mean by ‘show you are a critical thinker’ is to ask a question that puts your potential employers on the back foot and challenges them to provide a good answer.
This does two things: firstly, it shows that you have a brain between your ears. Secondly, it shows you how your potential future employers respond to hard questions. An example of a question you could ask is, ‘Considering the current unstable economic environment, what are you doing as a company to ensure that, should you hire me, I will not lose my job due to forced retrenchment?'”

Founder and CEO, Luciano Colos shares his insight for interview questions in marketing. “A good interview question in marketing for the interviewee to be prepared for is “What are your goals for your position in the next 6 months, 1 year, and 2 years?” This question gives the interviewee an opportunity to share their goals and ambitions, and it also gives the interviewer an idea of how the interviewee’s goals fit in with the company’s goals.
It’s important for the interviewee to be prepared to answer this question with specific and measurable goals that align with the company’s marketing strategy. They should be able to demonstrate their understanding of the industry and the target audience, as well as their ability to develop effective marketing campaigns and measure their success.
It’s also important for the interviewee to show their willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and trends in the industry. By asking this question, the interviewer can gauge the interviewee’s level of commitment and potential for growth within the company.”
Can You Share a Unique Marketing Strategy?
Tarun Saha is a Co-founder and CEO, states, “Asking about a unique marketing strategy implemented by the interviewee can assess both their creativity and analytical skills. The answer can also reveal how the candidate handled challenges and utilized data to evaluate the effectiveness of the campaign.
Listen for specific details and results, and don’t be afraid to ask follow-up questions to gain a more comprehensive understanding of their thought process. A well-prepared candidate can showcase their skills and demonstrate their potential impact on the company’s marketing efforts.”
Can You Describe What Campaign Success Looks Like?
CEO, Brenton Thomas explains interview questions in marketing. “One good interview question in Marketing that interviewees should be prepared for is “Can you describe a successful marketing campaign you have developed and executed in the past? What were the key strategies and tactics you used, and what were the results?”
