My name is Florencia Alatriste and this past summer, I had the exciting opportunity to intern at Nativa. As a senior at Arizona State University studying Digital Marketing, I was excited to immerse myself in the marketing world. My time at Nativa wasn’t just about gaining professional experience; it was about discovering my passion for the field and learning more. This internship has been a transformative experience, and I’m thrilled to share how it has shaped my journey.

As I prepared to start my internship at Nativa, I was very excited. Being Hispanic, I felt an immediate connection when I saw the opportunity, due to the company’s mission of promoting multicultural awareness and creating campaigns that resonate with Latino communities. Apart from the job itself, I was excited about the interactive elements of joining Nativa. I was eager to build friendships and connections for the future, and I had heard that the team arranged enjoyable activities such as movie nights and other outdoor events. These seemed like wonderful opportunities to relax and bond with my colleagues on a personal level.

Key Responsibilities and Achievements

During my internship at Nativa, I had the opportunity to engage in a variety of tasks that significantly contributed to the company’s marketing efforts.

I quickly mastered essential tools like Canva, Asana, and HubSpot, which helped me to contribute effectively to a range of exciting projects. My role allowed me to dive into creating captivating social media content, drafting blogs, and leveraging O.Y.E Intelligence for in-depth research.

experience at Nativa

A standout part of my internship was working on marketing and social media materials. I developed engaging Instagram posts with practical tips, made updates for TikTok and LinkedIn, and edited TikToks that not only captured attention but also reinforced our branding. Crafting industry reports using O.Y.E software was another highlight. Delving into multicultural social insights, I focused on the trending and controversial topic of Ozempic for weight loss, driven by its debate on social media and its wide-ranging impact.

Additionally, I enjoyed collaborating with senior members of the team to assist in brainstorming creative campaigns ideas for real client work, providing insights into client management. A memorable project was working on a campaign for Jack Daniel’s in the Hispanic sector with Brown-Forman. My supervisor and I spent time brainstorming, resulting in innovative strategies that resonated with our target audience.

Over the course of my internship, I wrote and edited 12 blogs, each requiring thorough research to stay ahead of trends and align with our marketing goals. This experience honed my creativity and strategic thinking, allowing me to craft content that was both engaging and impactful.

Learning and Growth

Looking back on my time as an intern at Nativa, I’m proud of the contributions I made and what I learned. I think that by doing every task with an open mind, I was able to make the most of my time working for the company. Overall, I believe and like to think I worked well because I met all of the deadlines and finished my tasks with success and good feedback. I was able to quickly adapt to new challenges and give results whether they were writing material for social media, researching the business, or coming up with marketing ideas.

Looking back, I’m grateful for the fun projects, the great work environment, and the connections I made. Being part of Nativa was a fantastic experience, and I’m excited to take what I’ve learned here into the next steps of my marketing career.
