Working From Home at Nativa: How Work Changed After the Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic changed the way many people think about work. Before then, working from home was not as common for many companies. For most teams, being in the office every day was simply the normal routine. But during the pandemic years, work from home moved from a rare exception to a daily reality for many people. Teams learned new tools, adjusted their schedules, and kept businesses operating from living rooms, home offices, and kitchen tables.

At Nativa, that shift helped shape the way the team works today. Instead of returning to a fully in-office schedule, Nativa currently follows a hybrid work routine, with the team working from home on Mondays and Wednesdays and coming into the office on the other workdays.

A New Way of Working

Remote work became way more popular and has stuck after the COVID-19 pandemic. It changed expectations around flexibility, productivity, and balance. Many employees built routines that helped them focus, manage their time, and reduce commuting stress. As remote work became more common, some employees missed the rhythm and relationships that live collaboration can offer, while others had built stable routines that helped them focus and manage family responsibilities and commuting time.

This balance can be perfect for both employees and employers.  It gives employees time to focus at home while still creating opportunities to connect in person. For Nativa, remote days are helpful for writing, research, campaign planning, content development, and reviewing client work. These types of tasks usually benefit  often benefit from quiet time and fewer distractions.

Why In-Person Days Still Matters

Even though working from home has clear benefits, being together in the office still matters. Some conversations happen more naturally face-to-face, especially when teams are brainstorming, giving feedback, training, or working through creative ideas.

For a multicultural marketing agency like Nativa, collaboration is a major part of the work. Campaigns often require strategy, cultural insight, creative thinking, and team discussion. Office days give the team a chance to share ideas, ask quick questions, and build off each other’s energy. It is also important to have daily social interaction and occasional work events, as they help employees build stronger relationships, feel more connected to the team, and create a healthier workplace culture.

Nativa’s Hybrid Schedule

Nativa’s current schedule gives the team structure while still allowing flexibility. Working from home on Mondays and Wednesdays gives employees dedicated time for focused work. Coming into the office the rest of the week gives the team time to collaborate, meet face-to-face, and stay connected to the company culture.

This schedule works because it gives the team the best of both worlds. People can focus from home when they need quiet time, but still come into the office to connect, collaborate, and feel part of the team. Instead, it recognizes that some work is better done individually, while other work is stronger when people are together.

A Balance Between Flexibility and Connection

Hybrid work is not just about where people work. It is about trust, communication, and understanding what each type of work needs. A thoughtful hybrid approach recognizes that team-heavy work can be done in person, while lower-risk and individual work can be done at home on set days.

At Nativa, this balance helps support both the people and the projects. Remote days give employees space to focus and manage their workload. Office days help keep the team connected and make collaboration feel more natural.

Moving Forward

The pandemic proved that work can look different and still be successful. It showed that productivity is not only about being in an office every day, but also about having clear expectations, strong communication, and the right environment for the task.

Nativa’s hybrid schedule reflects that new way of thinking. By working from home on Mondays and Wednesdays and coming together in the office during the rest of the week, Nativa continues to support flexibility, teamwork, creativity, and strong client work.
