OVERVIEW
As 2025 progresses, Nativa continues to play an essential role in supporting critical government projects. Nativa is proud to announce its collaboration with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and their Individual and Community Preparedness Division (ICPD). This partnership represents a significant step forward in supporting national preparedness initiatives. Nativa’s role centers on enhancing individual and community resilience by providing digital support to FEMA’s operations and promoting preparedness messages to the public.
APPROACH
Nativa’s approach to supporting FEMA’s national preparedness efforts is focused on providing extensive digital support to the Individual and Community Preparedness Division (ICPD). As a small business working on federal contracts, Nativa’s role involves assisting in the development and maintenance of online resources that communicate essential preparedness messages. Our work aims to ensure that underserved communities and individuals are informed about their relevant hazards, prepared to reduce risks, and less reliant on post-disaster assistance.
The primary focus of the project is to reduce the suffering caused by disasters. To achieve this, Nativa collaborates with FEMA to help communicate preparedness and risk reduction strategies, ensuring that critical information is widely available to the public. Nativa’s team works closely with FEMA’s leadership to ensure all deliverables align with FEMA’s objectives, supported by a detailed Project Management Plan (PMP) outlining milestones, resources, staffing, and communication strategies.
RESULTS
Nativa’s support has greatly enhanced FEMA’s ability to communicate vital preparedness information to the public. Through effective contract administration and management, IT security and compliance, and the development of digital tools and content, Nativa has helped ICPD to improve its outreach efforts. Our strategic management has ensured that FEMA’s initiatives reach a broader audience, particularly underserved communities, allowing them to take proactive steps in disaster preparedness.
Key tasks undertaken by Nativa include:
- Contract Administration and Management: Ensuring smooth operation and delivery of services.
- IT Security and Compliance: Maintaining strict security protocols to protect digital communications and tools.
- Digital Tools and Content Support: Developing and managing resources that educate individuals and communities on disaster preparedness.
- Correspondence Management: Facilitating effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Materials, Printing, and Other ODCs: Producing materials to support FEMA’s mission and initiatives.
This collaboration has resulted in increased public awareness about disaster preparedness, helping to reduce risks and increase resilience, particularly in underserved communities. Nativa’s close coordination with FEMA’s leadership and its meticulous planning has ensured that all deliverables meet FEMA’s specific needs, demonstrating the effectiveness of our approach in supporting national preparedness efforts.
