My Nativa internship journey has been both rewarding and gratifying. From my first day interning at Nativa, my experience has been continuous growth, discovery, and invaluable lessons. I am thrilled to reflect on my recent internship at Nativa, where I immersed myself in the dynamic marketing field.

Discovering Marketing

My name is Hilary Arce, and I am pursuing a marketing and sales degree at Phoenix College. Since a young age, I have nurtured a deep passion for higher education and cultivated a love for creativity, vision, and innovation. This passion led me to realize that marketing was the ideal path for my career growth. However, I soon discovered that lectures and textbooks could only take me so far. Becoming a proficient marketer required more than just academic knowledge; it demanded hands-on experience, mentorship, and the chance to gain professional insights firsthand.

The Internship Opportunity

In the spring of 2024, a key moment arose in my academic and professional journey when I was offered an internship opportunity at Nativa by Eric Diaz, the President, who also happened to be one of my professors for my social media marketing class. This opportunity marked a significant milestone, merging my academic pursuits with real-world experience in the vibrant marketing industry. When I started this internship, I was very nervous as it was the first I had ever done, and I had no clue what to expect. However, the extensive support system and heartwarming individuals in the office at Nativa soon made my nervousness disappear.

Key Responsibilities and Achievements

Throughout my internship, I had the opportunity to engage in various tasks that contributed to Nativa’s marketing efforts.

Some of the key responsibilities I undertook during my time at Nativa include:

  2. Email Marketing: My responsibilities involved developing an email with all the latest Nativa updates to send to Nativa’s subscribers. I achieved a remarkable 56.2% open rate.
  3. Social Media Marketing: I contributed to posting on Nativa’s social media platforms to promote awareness of Nativa.
  4. Award Submissions: I applied for marketing awards and generated case studies and videos to showcase Nativa’s work.
  5. Google Analytics: I was responsible for updating and analyzing Nativa’s and OYE’s webpage traffic using Google Analytics.
  6. Nativa’s Metrics: I updated and analyzed weekly social media posts, deals, proposals, leads, and more to track Nativa’s performance.
  7. Blog Writing: I wrote blogs about marketing content and Nativa’s services to engage our audience and showcase our expertise.
  8. Marketing Research: I researched topics such as influencer burnout to provide valuable insights for my data report.

Learning and Growth

The tasks I undertook during my internship at Nativa were educational and incredibly impactful. They provided practical experience that complemented my academic studies and expanded my understanding of marketing concepts beyond the classroom. Each task offered unique challenges and opportunities for growth, allowing me to develop essential skills such as research, analytics, content creation, and project management. Moreover, the supportive environment at Nativa encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone, take the initiative, and contribute meaningfully to the team’s objectives. I found immense satisfaction in seeing the direct impact of my efforts on Nativa’s marketing campaigns and the organization’s overall success.

Appreciation and Reflection

Throughout my time at Nativa, I felt a sense of fulfillment and gratitude for the opportunity to work alongside talented professionals dedicated to excellence in their craft. The guidance and mentorship provided by Eric Diaz and the rest of the team were invaluable, fostering my professional development and personal growth.
