Medical Document Transcreation
OBJECTIVE
Karna LLC was tasked with helping the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) translate COVID-19 medical training and guideline documents from English to African French. This mission required translators and interpreters reflect the distinct word choices and dialects of the target community. Given the sensitive nature and tight timeline, turnarounds needed to be as quick as 8 hours.
APPROACH
Nativa leveraged its extensive network of diverse translators. From this pool, Nativa selected individuals from African countries who were fluent in French and medical field experience. Additionally, Nativa ensured these translators were also fluent in English and proficient with technology to facilitate virtual interpretation sessions.
STRATEGY & EXECUTION
Nativa meticulously identified and engaged translators and interpreters with the necessary linguistic medical expertise. The team ensured the translated documents maintained cultural and linguistic accuracy, adhering to stringent standards required by the CDC. Virtual sessions were coordinated for real-time interpretation, ensuring efficient and precise translation under tight deadlines.
IMPACT
Nativa’s efforts resulted in the successful delivery of high-quality translations within the required turnaround times, enabling the CDC to disseminate the crucial Covid-19 medical training and guidelines effectively.
